First-light images - all taken by the team of Pete Lawrence, Mark Parrish and myself. |
Here are a few images taken through the restored scope on 3rd March 2005. The tracking was working, but not yet well enough for exposures of more that 30 seconds or so. Most of the shots below were taken through gaps in the cloud cover, and the M42 image was through hazy cloud, low down near the horizon.

Below are Jupiter and Saturn. Taken at prime focus with a TeleVue 3x Barlow with a TouCam Pro Webcam. Approximately 1000 frames stacked for both images.
